Doc Rock is bringing nature therapy to Great Falls. Dr. Barbara Frank, also known as "Doc Rock", is a local geologist, facilitator, and author who studied natural systems for years. "Urban humans have become completely disconnected from the world around them", said Frank. "And I have some practical ideas about how to help them reconnect with nature".
Visitors entering her home, called the Meeting Oasis, are immediately enveloped in a comfortable, balanced atmosphere. Frank said, "The home was built in the late 1970’s and I have owned it for 18 years. I completely re-oriented the design so that I can see nature from anywhere in the house". Wrap-around windows stream sunlight and leafy green hues into the sitting room, a testament to the success of this design.
The Meeting Oasis also serves as a meeting venue for Frank’s planning sessions, meetings, and workshops. "I have a master’s degree in Organizational Development, in addition to a doctorate in geology," said Frank. "I offer small groups the opportunity to conduct meetings in a much more inspirational environment than a hotel or conference facility". Frank can facilitate the event herself or work with organizers to tailor it to their objectives.
